I love making mistakes. Yes of course I hate it when it happens and I feel bad if they effect other people but the biggest things I’ve learned so far in life have been from making mistakes.

Part of growing up and getting to know yourself, in my opinion, is building personal perceptions and creating a set of personal mores built off of your experiences and lessons learned. They become our own personal rules of living. Some of these rules we keep to ourselves, others we share openly but no matter what they are mostly unique to us. By better understanding each others set of rules, we better hope to understand what we are all doing in the world on a daily basis.

My mind often wonders if it’s in this lack of understanding of each others Rules of Living that we hit barriers, that the miscommunication begins and where the disconnect between culture experience widens. With all of the modern ways to stay connected, do we really understand the rules another person uses to live their life any better than in the days before technology, electricity and instant everything?

Personal Opinion? We need to slow down. Stop focusing on the immediate, the now and the urgent. Turn our experiences in to meaningful relationships that benefit all parties. Get to know a person, not just their face or style, but their thoughts, their needs, their personalities. Understand the rules of living that the people in your life have built for themselves.

Without the social in this social revolution, aren’t we all just revolting alone?
